R.I.P. Michael Turner

Sat Jun 28, 2008, 10:26 AM
My goodness. It's been a rough year for lovers of Art. Mike Wieringo, Dave Stevens and now Michael Turner. Good grief :(. My condolences go out to his family, friends and fans. This is very close to me because he's the only "superstar artist" I actually met in real life. He signed copies of Witchblade that I brought with me and an Aspen Sketchbook he was promoting at the time. Wow... and now he's gone.

Rest in Peace, Mike. You and your art will continue to live on in the hearts of those that love you.

:'( That is so sad to hear he died so early of an age. You're lucky to have met him, epcially since he was famous, I bet he was a really great guy.
Indeed he was. :) That's why this whole thing just feels surreal.

Thanks for the comment. Hope you're doing alright. ^_^

Let no one rob you of that powerful motivational force known as vision...seeing not only what is...but what can be.
What sad news .. M Turner was so young! Rest in peace M Turner.
This is very sad to hear. What a loss. Mike Turner was truly and inspirational artist.

no problem, I'm doing okay, summer is finally starting for me, so I feel good. C=
Turner was an inspirational artist to myself. His style was definitely a style of it's own, even though there were others I'm sure influenced him as he influenced others. Most definitely a fan of the witchblade series both for the artwork, the story by Christine Wohl and his ability to convey the emotion and mood of her writing into a visual piece.
Ugh. What a punch in the gut this news was. I've met him and been around him a few times when he was at a comic retailer friend of mine's store, and he was a truly kind generous person. Not to mention one hell of an artist!
Wow.....dude was awesome. Guess this just means that we need to work harder and fill the void. But still, Another artist gone this year. I wonder who is next?
